ADOX CHS 100 II 120 - classic black-and-white film for medium format
ADOX CHS 100 II 120 is an ISO 100 black-and-white negative film for medium format cameras. It is not a clinically modern film, but a material with classic photographic character: soft highlights, open shadows, tidy grain and very pleasant midtone transitions.
The emulsion is orthopanchromatically sensitized, so skies, clouds, skin, water and foliage separate a little differently than on many modern panchromatic films. In medium format this is especially visible: the image feels calm, dimensional and close to classic 1960s black-and-white photography.

What I would use it for
I would choose this film for portraits, landscapes, architecture, still life and slower street photography with a medium format camera. Softer developers can make it look velvety, FX-39 II keeps a good balance of sharpness and contrast, while Rodinal/Adonal can add a more graphic character.
A practical note: CHS 100 II is coated on a clear PET base, so it is best to load and unload the 120 roll in shade or subdued light, then keep the exposed roll tightly wound. Frame count depends on the camera format: usually 16 frames for 6x4.5, 12 for 6x6, 10 for 6x7 or 8 for 6x9.
