ADOX HR-50 135/36 with SPEED BOOST - high-resolution ISO 50 black-and-white film
ADOX HR-50 135/36 with SPEED BOOST is an ISO 50 black-and-white film for situations where you want maximum sharpness, extremely fine grain and a clean, graphic image. It is not a casual all-round roll; it rewards good light, detailed scenes and careful exposure.
HR-50 is based on a technical emulsion, but ADOX reduces the gamma and raises the usable speed with SPEED BOOST technology so it works for pictorial photography. The emulsion is superpanchromatic, with very high resolving power and a very fine grain structure.

What I would use it for
I would use HR-50 for landscapes, architecture, city scenes, travel, still life and contrasty minimalist work. Portraits are possible too, but I would develop it carefully: HR-DEV or FX-39 II help keep contrast controlled and the tonal scale more graceful.
Filters are a big part of HR-50’s appeal. The film responds well to yellow, orange, red, green and blue filters, and it can also be used for infrared photography with a suitable IR filter. Because it is coated on a clear PET base, load it in shade and avoid leaving the film leader in strong sun.
Status: in stock. A strong choice when you want a very sharp, clean black-and-white image without coarse grain.
