ADOX SCALA 50 BW 135/36 - ISO 50 black-and-white slide film
ADOX SCALA 50 BW 135/36 is an ISO 50 black-and-white slide film for situations where you want a transparent positive instead of a negative: a frame you can view on a light table, scan as a slide or project. It is closely related to ADOX HR-50 in character, but Scala’s main point is black-and-white reversal processing.
The film is superpanchromatic, with extremely fine grain, high sharpness and a clear PET base. It has high Dmax for deep black shadows and low Dmin for clean highlights, so finished transparencies look contrasty, detailed and very precise. The tone is neutral to slightly warm.

What I would use it for
I would choose Scala 50 for architecture, landscapes, graphic city scenes, still life and frames where line, texture and light matter. It is not a film for casual underexposure: expose carefully and keep in mind that slide processing is less forgiving than ordinary black-and-white negative development.
For the intended result it needs black-and-white reversal processing, such as the ADOX Scala Reversal Kit, Foma reversal kit or a lab that offers B&W slide processing. Technically Scala 50 can also be processed as a negative using HR-50 times, but the real charm is the transparent black-and-white positive.
Status: in stock. A good choice if you want the rare experience of black-and-white slides, not just another B&W negative film.
