AGFAPHOTO APX 400 135/36 - affordable ISO 400 black-and-white film
AGFAPHOTO APX 400 135/36 is an affordable ISO 400 black-and-white film for more active situations: street, reportage, movement, cloudy days, dusk and window-lit interiors. It is a practical roll that is more about catching the moment than chasing laboratory perfection.
APX 400 has more visible grain than ISO 100/200 films, but it gives useful freedom with shutter speed and aperture. The contrast is clear, the look is classic, and the negative scans well when exposure and development are handled cleanly.
Technical notes
- Format: 35mm / 135, 36 exposures.
- Speed: ISO 400/27°.
- Type: black-and-white negative film, standard B&W development.
- Best for: street, reportage, movement, cloudy weather and lower light.
What I would use it for
I would suggest it when you need an inexpensive B&W film for an everyday camera: walks, friends, city scenes, trips and available-light events. For the finest grain there are more expensive ISO 400 materials, but APX 400 is an honest working film for real-life shooting.
Status: preorder. A practical ISO 400 working film for everyday shooting.
