About the film
Kodak Ektachrome 400X (code EPL) is a professional daylight-balanced colour reversal (slide) film in 120, rated EI 400. It was one of Kodak’s fastest slide films, used for reportage and low light where ISO 100 was no longer enough. It is expired — best before 06/2004.
What to expect
Slide film shows its age more than negative film. After this many years expect some colour shift, lower contrast and shallower blacks. How much nobody can say in advance — it depends on how the film was stored.
One practical note
Fast films age faster, so it needs more extra exposure: roughly ISO 100–200 instead of box speed. Develop in E-6 — or in C-41 if you want a cross-processed look. If the frames matter, shoot a test roll first. I can develop and scan it for you.
