About the film
Svema Foto 100 is a fresh black-and-white panchromatic negative film, ISO 100, 135 format, 36 exposures. It is made by Astrum Ltd in Shostka, Ukraine — the company carrying on Svema's work on its machinery. The emulsion is coated on a clear 0.10 mm polyester base.
Look
Fine grain, high sharpness and fairly high contrast. Its sensitivity extends into the near infrared, up to 750 nm, so an R72 filter gives IR-like frames.
Shooting and developing
The cassette is not DX-coded: set ISO 100 on the camera by hand. The film comes in a plain plastic cassette with no label — only the box names it. Load it in the shade. Processing: standard black-and-white. I can develop and scan it for you.
