Why use it
A bulk film loader lets you buy 35mm film in 100ft rolls instead of pre-loaded cassettes, then wind your own rolls of 12, 24 or 36 exposures. Film ends up costing noticeably less per frame, and you decide exactly how long each roll is.
The Watson Model 100 holds the bulk roll in a light-tight chamber. Load it once in complete darkness (or a changing bag), then work in daylight: drop in an empty reloadable cassette, turn the crank, and the indexed counter dial shows how many frames you have wound. A light-trap interlock keeps the film from fogging while you work.
