Description

A complete set for turning ordinary black-and-white film into slides: first developer, bleach and clearing bath in one bag with printed instructions.

What is in it, and what is not

The kit holds the three solutions specific to the process. There is deliberately no second developer: any ordinary negative developer does that step, and most photographers already have one. The final fixer is an ordinary one too.

How the process runs

First development, bleach, clearing bath, re-exposure, second development, fix, wash. Re-exposure can be done with a desk lamp and the film unrolled — after bleaching it no longer fears light. Exact times and temperatures are in the instructions.

Questions and answers

Does any film work?

Films without an anti-halation layer and with fine grain work best. Films with a dyed anti-halation layer give slides with a coloured veil — that is a property of the emulsion, not a fault.
