E-6 colour developer (CD)

Description

The second E-6 developer: it develops the positive image and carries out the reversal itself. That is why the kit has no separate reversal bath.

What it does

After the first developer and a wash, the film still holds unused halide — the positive to come. The colour developer develops it and forms the dyes at the same time. Chemical reversal is built into the solution, so no extra bath is needed.

About re-exposure

Classic E-6 called for a light exposure between baths, but modern formulations do without it — the chemistry reverses the image. Follow the instructions with your kit and do not add steps just in case.
