E-6 first developer for expired film

Description

The E-6 first developer recalculated for film fifteen years old and more. It compensates for the fog and lost speed that an ordinary FD only emphasises.

What goes wrong with an old slide

Emulsions gain fog over the years and lose speed. In an ordinary first developer that gives a dark slide with grey highlights: the fog develops along with the image and eats the lightest tones. This formulation carries more antifoggant and a different balance, so the highlights stay clean.

What it does not do

It does not bring back dyes that have already decomposed, and it does not correct a balance shift from warm storage. It rescues density and clean highlights; the scanner does the rest.
