HC-110 as a thick syrup concentrate, diluted 1+31. One of the longest-lived developers there is: an opened bottle keeps working for years rather than weeks. Moderate grain, strong edge contrast and full film speed.

Who it suits

HC-110 was made for labs that work in bursts: one roll today, twenty next month. The concentrate barely oxidises, so you never pour away a litre of working solution simply because you did not shoot for a while. For home developing at an irregular rhythm that is a decisive advantage over solutions that have to be kept alive.

Working with it

The syrup is thick — a syringe measures it far better than a beaker, which is exactly why the 10 ml single dose exists as its own product. Dilution 1+31 (the familiar «dilution B») is the default, and it is what the stated yield is calculated for. The working solution is one-shot: dilute, develop, discard.

Questions and answers

Can it be diluted other than 1+31?

Yes — HC-110 works across a wide range of dilutions, each with its own times. The yield in the name is for 1+31; weaker dilutions go further.

How long does the concentrate keep?

Years, in a tightly closed bottle. The syrup darkening is normal and does not mean it has stopped working.
