Kodak T-Max Developer is a liquid concentrate for black and white negative film, 1 litre.
What it is for
A developer built for tabular-grain emulsions — T-Max (now Ektapan), Ilford Delta, Fomapan 200. With those it delivers the maximum sharpness and the finest grain they are capable of. And it earns particular credit for one thing: it develops even the temperamental T-Max with good grey tones rather than the hardness T-grain tends toward.
How to dilute it
The working dilution is 1+4.
It is a one-shot developer: mix the working solution, use it, discard it. That is the most predictable way to work — every film is developed in fresh solution, so times need no extending from roll to roll.
Storage
Sealed concentrate keeps well but dislikes air: the emptier the bottle, the faster it oxidises. Decant the remainder into a smaller bottle, or displace the air — that is what gets a concentrate to its last measure.
How it compares
For classic cubic-grain films — Tri-X, HP5+, FP4+ — D-76 is more universal. But with Delta, Ektapan or Fomapan 200 in the tank, this concentrate gets noticeably more out of them.
