Mamutphoto Glass Cleaner is a dedicated cleaner for glass plates in the wet plate process, 1 litre.
What it is for
In wet plate, clean glass is not hygiene but half the result. The collodion must flow evenly and hold until development ends; any trace of grease or dust gives lifting, blotches and a ruined plate. A dedicated cleaner handles this more reliably than household products, which leave films of their own.
How to dilute it
Storage
Sealed concentrate keeps well but dislikes air: the emptier the bottle, the faster it oxidises. Decant the remainder into a smaller bottle, or displace the air — that is what gets a concentrate to its last measure.
How it compares
A litre lasts a long time — a consumable you buy once and forget about. For anyone working in collodion it is not optional.
