Moersch Bleacher is a potassium hexacyanoferrate and bromide bleach, 250 ml concentrate.
What it is for
The mandatory first half of indirect toning. Sepia will not take directly on cold or neutral papers: the print is bleached almost to vanishing first, and only then does the toner bring it back in its new colour. The same solution is used to lighten local areas of a print with a brush — the classic hand-finishing move.
How to dilute it
Storage
Sealed concentrate keeps well but dislikes air: the emptier the bottle, the faster it oxidises. Decant the remainder into a smaller bottle, or displace the air — that is what gets a concentrate to its last measure.
How it compares
The bleach is of no use alone — it is bought to pair with a toner. If you print on warm-tone paper and tone directly, you will not need it.
