Moersch Intensifier is a three-part intensifier for thin negatives, three 100 ml concentrates.
What it is for
A rescue for a negative that came out too thin: a metering error, a shortened time, a temperature gone wrong. The intensifier builds density into an already-developed image, and a frame that would print nothing becomes usable. The effect is set by time — a gentle lift in five minutes, a strong one in twenty.
How to dilute it
The working dilution is A + B + C + вода у пропорції 1+1+1+5…10.
Treatment runs 5 to 20 minutes, followed by a 10-minute wash.
It works only on film already developed and fixed — it is not a way to correct an error during development. Practise on a frame you do not need: the process is irreversible and overdoing it is easy.
Storage
Sealed concentrate keeps well but dislikes air: the emptier the bottle, the faster it oxidises. Decant the remainder into a smaller bottle, or displace the air — that is what gets a concentrate to its last measure.
How it compares
A rare thing in the modern range, and valuable for that reason: for a negative worth rescuing there is essentially no alternative. Worth keeping in the darkroom even if it is used once a year.
