The second developer of the C-9165 process: it develops the positive image and forms the dyes after the negative silver has been bleached.
Where it sits in the process
It follows first development, a wash and the reversal step. This is where the slide takes on colour; before it the film looks almost blank, which is normal.

Why a separate bottle, when E-6’s colour developer reverses by itself?
This is a different process with a different sequence. Follow the C-9165 instructions rather than E-6’s.
