SPUR Omega X is a two-part developer for black and white film, 2 × 250 мл.
What it is for
The maker claims a combination long held impossible: very fine grain together with the highest sharpness. It comes from an extremely high micro-detail contrast — precisely the quality fine-grain developers normally sacrifice. The practical consequence is that an ordinary black and white film in this developer performs at a level nobody expects from it.
How to dilute it
It is a one-shot developer: mix the working solution, use it, discard it. That is the most predictable way to work — every film is developed in fresh solution, so times need no extending from roll to roll.
Storage
Sealed concentrate keeps well but dislikes air: the emptier the bottle, the faster it oxidises. Decant the remainder into a smaller bottle, or displace the air — that is what gets a concentrate to its last measure.
How it compares
This is the top of what an ordinary film can be made to give, and the price reflects it. If you do not need the detail ceiling, D-76 or UFP produce a perfectly good negative for markedly less.
