SPUR UFP Universal is a liquid concentrate, 250 ml, that develops both film and paper.
What it is for
The maker states the advantage plainly: one developer handles films and papers, and where convenient at the same dilution. It suits every ordinary film type — 35 mm, roll film, sheet — as well as resin-coated and baryta papers. The high dilutions in its chart make it economical too.
How to dilute it
It is a one-shot developer: mix the working solution, use it, discard it. That is the most predictable way to work — every film is developed in fresh solution, so times need no extending from roll to roll.
Storage
Sealed concentrate keeps well but dislikes air: the emptier the bottle, the faster it oxidises. Decant the remainder into a smaller bottle, or displace the air — that is what gets a concentrate to its last measure.
How it compares
For anyone who both develops and prints, this is a way to keep one bottle in the darkroom instead of two. Specialised formulas do better in their own niche, but UFP wins on simplicity of housekeeping.
