Tetenal Indicet is an odourless stop bath with an exhaustion indicator, 250 ml concentrate.

What it is for

The convenience here is the indicator: when the stop bath is spent, the solution turns from gold to blue. No counting prints and wondering whether the bath still works — it tells you. Add the absence of smell, which in a small darkroom is felt every day.

How to dilute it

The working dilution is 1+19.

The solution is replenishable — kept and reused, with development time extended as it exhausts. Keep count of the films put through it; that is the only way to avoid an underdeveloped roll at the end of its life.

Storage

Sealed concentrate keeps well but dislikes air: the emptier the bottle, the faster it oxidises. Decant the remainder into a smaller bottle, or displace the air — that is what gets a concentrate to its last measure.

How it compares

The catalogue already carries ADOX Adostop Eco, also with an indicator — the supplier calls them interchangeable. Stop baths without one cost less but ask for more attention.
