Developing Tanks, Chemistry & Film Photography Accessories

Developing tanks, photo chemistry and accessories for home film development

Why home development?

Everything you need to develop film at home

Home film development is not just a way to save money — it is full control over the creative process. You choose when, how, and at what temperature to develop. You can experiment with cross-processing, push and pull, and non-standard developers to get results that are difficult to achieve through a standard lab workflow.

A developing tank is where it all starts. A good tank holds the film tightly, does not leak, and allows you to work in daylight after loading. We stock proven models that are comfortable to use even for beginners — compact, reliable, and compatible with 35mm and 120 formats.

Chemistry, accessories, and tools — everything for a complete home film-development workflow. If you are just starting out or upgrading your setup, feel free to ask us for advice via Telegram.

FAQ

What do I need to develop black-and-white film at home?
To get started you need a developing tank (such as AP Compact or Paterson), a changing bag or darkroom to load the film, and developer, stop bath, and fixer for black-and-white development. C-41 colour film uses a different chemistry kit. Optionally, a wetting agent for streak-free drying. The whole process takes 30–60 minutes.
Does the developing tank work with 35mm and 120 film?
Most tanks in our catalogue are compatible with both 35mm and 120 formats. The AP Compact holds two 35mm rolls or one 120 roll. Check the product description or message us on Telegram to confirm compatibility.
Do I need a darkroom to develop film?
A darkroom is only needed to load the film into the tank — this takes 1–2 minutes. A changing bag is the most convenient solution. The actual development is done in daylight.
What is a wetting agent and why use it?
A wetting agent (such as FOMA Fotonal) is added to the final rinse. It reduces water surface tension and ensures the film dries evenly without water spots or streaks.
