F-24 Acid Fixer
A special non-tanning acidic fixer—for when it's important not to tan the gelatin layer.
About Fixage
The F-24 special fixer is used when it is necessary to prevent the gelatin layer from hardening. It is a universal fixer: it can be used for photographic film, photographic plates, and photographic paper. To achieve satisfactory results, it is essential to strictly monitor the temperature of all solutions used in processing the materials—the developer, the water for intermediate and final rinsing, and the fixer—which must not exceed 20 °C. It is sold as a mixture in a plastic bag, which must be dissolved in distilled water before use.

How to Prepare and Use
- 1Make sure that the temperature of the developer, rinse water, and fixer does not exceed 20 °C.
- 2Record the standard time indicated on the photographic material.

Mixing it at home
An acid non-hardening fixer based on sodium thiosulfate.
- 1Dissolve the contents of the packet in distilled water and bring the volume of the solution to 1 liter.
