Fixation

F-24 Acid Fixative

A special non-tanning acidic fixative—for when it's important not to tan the gelatin layer.

About Fixage

The F-24 special fixer is used when it is necessary to prevent the gelatin layer from hardening. It is a universal fixer: it can be used for photographic film, photographic plates, and photographic paper. To achieve satisfactory results, it is essential to strictly monitor the temperature of all solutions used in processing the materials—the developer, the water for intermediate and final rinsing, and the fixer—which must not exceed 20 °C. It is sold as a mixture in a plastic bag, which must be dissolved in distilled water before use.

Character

An acidic, non-tannic type. Used when it is necessary to prevent gelatin from becoming tough.
